Peninsula Aquatics Youth Swimming Lessons | Ages 3-12

Peninsula Aquatics Swim Lessons are instructed by experienced swimmer and coach Rachel Stollenwerk. Red Cross certified lifeguard with over 20 years of competitive swim experience and over 10 years of swim coaching from youth through High School.

  • LEVEL 1 Ages 3-4: focus on water acclimation working on going underwater, kicking with assistance and blowing bubbles. No experience needed.

  • LEVEL 2 Ages 4-6: focus on front floating, back floating, kicking, moving arms/legs. Must be able to go underwater and retrieve a dive toy on the bottom of the pool floor or step.

  • LEVEL 3 Ages 5-9: focus on initial stroke development for freestyle/backstroke. Must be able to jump in and get back to the wall or ladder unassisted.

  • LEVEL 4 Ages 6-12: focus on stroke development including freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. Must be able to swim approx. 15 yards on front or back.

Peninsula Aquatics Private Swimming Lessons | Ages 2+

Peninsula Aquatics offers private swim lessons for ages 2+. Each lesson is 30 minutes and can include up to two swimmers. Swimmers do not need to be from the same household but must be of the same or similar ability. Lessons take place at various pools throughout northern Door County. All instructors are lifeguard certified. Availability is limited and dependent on pool space and instructor schedules. You must be on the waitlist to be notified of availability.

Baylake Triathlon Club | Ages 7+

Become a member of the Baylake Triathlon Club! The Baylake Triathlon Club is open to anyone interested in multi-sport (Swim + Bike + Run + Ski) and is looking for the motivation and encouragement that comes from being part of a team.

Training opportunities are scheduled throughout most of the year for all disciplines and all ages. Choosing to participate in a race is not required but encouraged. The club is meant to give athletes a structured option for training and socializing with other athletes. Coach-led training plans and scheduled weekly training sessions are available for swimming, biking and running in preparation for any type of race. The club looks forward to participating each year at the Door County Triathlon which takes place the second weekend in July. The club is a great opportunity for families to get involved together! Weekly Sunset Trail bike rides in Peninsula State Park and track workouts make it easy for everyone to get involved. There are three age group for coordinated practices:

  • Youth | ages 5-12 This age group is great for beginner athletes. The Baylake Youth Triathlon group is an entry level opportunity for your young athlete to learn about multisport and take advantage of swimming, running and biking opportunities in a safe, fun and supportive environment. Learn how to set goals, train and compete with friends!​

 

  • Junior Racing | ages 11-18 The Baylake Junior Racing Team introduces the multisport athlete to the next level of competition. Training focuses on form, conditioning and power across all disciplines and encourages athletes to reach new levels of skill development.

 

  • Age Group | ages 14+ The Baylake Age Group Triathlon group is open to all abilities. Specific cycling opportunities are offered to women from beginner to advanced. We support you as an athlete, foster improvement, provide motivation and cultivate camaraderie.
